WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
We ask that you please be prepared when you come into our offices:
FOR ALL TITLE AND REGISTRATION TRANSACTIONS:
- FULL VIN of the vehicle you want to title and register
- This makes it much easier for us to track down your paperwork in our office and in our system
- Montana drivers license/ID
- If there are multiple people on the title, you will also need a picture of their drivers license
- Physical original title
- We do not accept copies, memorandum titles, electronic titles, or a copy of a registration to transfer ownership

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A MONTANA DRIVERS LICENSE
- Valid government-issued ID
- Ex: Out of state drivers license, passport, passport card, foreign drivers license, etc.
- Proof of residency (which you can find linked here.)
FOR RENEWING A VEHICLE:
- Blue renewal card that you received in the mail
- License plate number
- Last 8 digits of the vehicle's VIN
- Drivers license
- Tax form 2290 if your vehicle has a GVW over 54,000
